It used to be as to whether to divorcing couples who kept a home. Women in particular, have often struggled to stay in the house, where two children had increased. That was not always talk to the financially savvy, especially if the ongoing expenses (property taxes, insurance, utilities and maintenance) proved too much to handle on their income. Women are often left in the divorce settlement and other valuable assets, such as pension benefits, in order to win the house. It seems to be changing.
"Houses have become like a hot potato says," Berg. "No one wants the account in his favour. Maybe they want the house, but they do not want on the values that are agreed to, or because they do not feel it is a safe investment . "
Hughes says women feel less attachment to the family home, which could be a positive change, reflecting their understanding of how the burden of running expenses can be. "I hope this is because they have learned," she says.
"More and more, neither man wants to live there," she says. Especially when couples are ending a long-term marriage, a fresh start for both may wish, at home, including luggage. "People want a new start with very low," she says. "In some cases it is not, then one wants. This is the last one life."
