For the last generation,take my parents for example,they would put thier spare money in the bank.There are several reasons,first at that time ,there were not many ways of investment,put the spare money in the bank is the most popular way of investment;second it is quite safe unless the bank go bankrupt(it seldom happens in china),third their profit is stable.
